think small | The Exhibition

Panopticon Gallery

(in the main gallery)

September 10 - December 1, 2015

Opening Reception: Thursday, September 10th from 5:30-7:30pm.

In a world where we are told that “thinking big” is the only way to be successful, we urge you to take a step in and look more closely. Slow down, focus on the slight details you look past every day because you were trying to see the “bigger picture.” There has been a trend in contemporary photography to print big. We want you to know: bigger is not always better.

Curated by Corinne DiPietro and Jason Landry, think smallwill feature affordable works of art by photographers from all over New England.

Our opening reception will also feature a live set by Boston’s own DJ-Boom.

This exhibition is being sponsored by our friends at Panopticon Imaging in Rockland, Mass.

Photographers included in this exhibition include: Agata Wisniowska, Alan Strassman, Alex Mavradis, Amy Ragus, Andrew Janjigian, Ashlyn McKibben, Barbara Zulkiewicz, Bennett Chaney, Bradley Olson, Cassandra Zampini, Catherine Trombly, Chantel Ames, Colleen Dubois, Daniel Clapp, Daniel Duarte, David Horton, David Phoenix, Dina Konovalov, Eric Almquist, Erik Gehring, Eva Timothy, Faith Ninivaggi, Francis Osborn-Blaschke, Gary Samson, Greg Nordstrom, Han Li, Helen Herman, James Holland, Jilmar da Silva, Joe Greene, John Bunzick, Judith Montminy, Julianne Mitrano, Kaylee Cataldo-Perry, Kelsey Whitaker, Kristen Burchsted, Laura Knapp, Leslii Stevens, Lisa Johnson, Liz Linder & Rich Griswold, Matt Cegelis, Matthew Peterson, Meg Birnbaum, Meredith Abenaim, Michael Joseph, Michael Petrizzo, Michelle Hirsch, Nadine Wallack, Nicholas Costopoulos, Nicole Harrington, Pamela Joye, Rachel Jump, Raj Das, Ralph Mercer, Roger Archibald, Ron Cowie, Ryan Maheu, Sage Brousseau, Saul Blumenthal, Stephanie Arnett, Steve Genatossio, Susan Arthur, Thibault Roland, Timothy Wilson, Tricia Collier, Tsofi Inbar, Vivien Goldman.

Guitar Heroes: Photographs from Behind the Six String

Panopticon Gallery

502c Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA 02215
(in the main gallery)

March 20th - September 8 2015
Opening Reception: Friday, March 20th from 5:30-7:30pm.

Loads of young, aspiring guitar players use to cover their bedroom walls with photographs and posters of their favorite musicians. I know this first hand because when I was younger, I was like that. As society has moved into a more digital world, today's guitar heroes are not worshiped like their predecessors from the past––the game has changed. Just search YouTube and you’ll see an endless crop of exceptional guitar players from all over the world looking to be discovered.

This exhibition at Panopticon Gallery is meant to inspire those musicians who strive for greatness. We are mixing photographs of the famous, with the not so famous––from the stage to the street. So come join us and be inspired as we showcase these guitar-themed photographs by Ron Pownall, Rowland Scherman, Roger Farrington, Jeff Thiebauth, Daniel Tedeschi, Harold Feinstein, Ernest C. Withers, Leslii Stevens, Paris Visone, Gary Samson, Steven McBride and others to be announced soon. Stay tuned!
